As most of our parents are aware, the foundations enabling us to extend the Chapel by widening it to accommodate 780 staff and boys are in the process of being dug. Simultaneously great care is being taken to ensure that the windows and other beautiful features of the Chapel which was last expanded in 1952 are retained and stored safely until we are able to replace them in the renovated Chapel. We are on track at this stage to complete the project by the Michaelmas Term of 2025 with services being held in the Schlesinger Theatre or in the Amphitheatre until then.

We have had an overwhelming response particularly from Old Boys to the request for funding for new pews in the widened sections of the Chapel on the basis of their families being recognised by a small plaque on each of the pews they have funded. All the new pews have been accounted for.

We have therefore decided to make our existing pews available to parents and families close to the school, as well as to Old Boys, who may wish to “adopt a pew” on which a personal dedication may be inscribed as in the accompanying example below.
