Annual Fund

What is the Annual Fund?

Running a school the size and complexity of Michaelhouse is as exciting as it is challenging. Every day is different from the day before. We have and continue to work hard to ensure all financial priorities and financial needs are met and that we remain at the forefront of private school education in South Africa.

The Annual Fund is a resource which Michaelhouse is able to dispense to areas where it is most needed. It is what is known as an ‘unrestricted fund’. This means that it can be used for a wide variety of needs ranging from shortfalls in other funding campaigns to offsetting unforeseen operational needs.

Why is the Annual Fund important?

Keeping Michaelhouse affordable and accessible to as many South Africans as possible is at the heart of our long term thinking. Minimising annual rises in school fees is a challenge that requires a multi-dimensional approach. Our hope is that the Annual Fund becomes an increasingly significant contributor by meeting challenges such as unforeseen - and often unseen - day to day operational needs, helping to meet shortfalls in other fundraising campaigns and topping up other funds that directly impact our boys.

How can I make a difference?

Help us get this fund off the ground!

One off donations are well received and you can be assured that your generosity will reach areas most in need. However, this is an ongoing need and so if you are able to, we would be so grateful if you could make a recurring donation.

Remember if you are a South African taxpayer, all donations are tax deductible. We will send you a Section 18a following receipt of your donation and confirmation of your details.
