RECTOR'S ANNOUNCEMENTS : 01 October 2008

  • Congratulations to Stuart Maclaren who, together with his partner, came 9th in the World K2 Marathon Championship in Czech Republic , an outstanding achievement.
  • Our U14A cricket team performed well in the U14 Festival held at Hilton (see Results.)
  • Despite the miserable weather our boys performed well to come 4th out of 8 teams in a Doubles and Mixed Doubles Tennis Tournament hosted by St Anne?s. In the Mixed Doubles our boys were teamed with Roedean and reports are that they were perfect gentlemen on and off the courts! So much so that Roedean have especially requested that we team up again with them next year! Well done to Myles Arron; Dean Stephen; Richard Ashforth, Sanda Shandu; Brian Cox and Michael Good!
  • The Michaelhouse squash team won the Pietermaritzburg Medi-Clinic Mens? First League squash for the first time in their history. Congratulations to the Michaelhouse team which consisted of Ian Sturgeon (C Block); Jonathan Short (A Block) Andrew Brown (Staff); David Smythe (Intern); Frank Bradford (Parent).
  • Andrew Chance has been selected to represent Zimbabwe in the FINA World Cup in the 50 and 100 metre freestyle swimming event on 17 and 18 October 2008 in Durban. Well done.
  • Well done to Ruan Combrinck who represented the KZN U19 Rugby Team during the holidays.
